R. has a review of another tea.
It's called Pilochun Tea.
We went to a "tea room" in
Austin. It was more an exercise in yuppie karmic search than a true mind-body
experience. It's good to know that there is some interest in putting tea rooms in
Texas. Too bad the place caters to the rich and unemployed rather than those who can
truly use the service. But it wasn't too bad, there were some pretty cool things to
look at.

silver needle
white tea |
China |
This is an expensive tea. When dry, it
smells like a budding flower. A very light scent. The color is pale green with
silvery, fuzzy hue. |
This tea is light and sweet. The aftertaste
is sweet too. In fact, it seems to get sweeter after you've swallowed. |
Pilochun tea with jasmine |
China |
Rare Chinese green tea. This particular one was
scented with
jasmine. Spiral dark green leaves with a yarn-like texture. Sweet and delicate
taste. A bit pricey, but worth it. |
If you like jasmine, this is definitely one to
try. Unlike many
jasmine teas, which can have a bitter taste after a period of time, this one gets sweeter
the more you drink it. Worth purchasing. |

One of the most wonderful
aspects of tea is the ceremony in drinking. Part of the ceremony revolves around the
aesthetics of pouring tea from that perfect teapot. You can find thousands of
teapots made of porcelain here in the states, but you'll be hard-pressed to find the
simple and elegant Oriental teapots. So, you should visit various websites to find
these sets. One of the more reasonably priced importers of teasets is YiXing. They have a large selection of teapots and
you can order right online. And no, I'm not affiliated with them in any way.
